Coke Zero: Confused Anyone?
Hot on the heels of Diet Coke With Splenda comes Coca-Cola Zero. Coke Zero is sweetened with aspartame and acesulfame potassium (ace-k) and has zero calories. The only chemical difference between Coke Zero and Diet Coke is that Coke Zero has about half the aspartame but has more ace-k.

Confused anyone? It's a marketing thing - Coke have manufactured a "diet" coke without using the word diet... which in their eyes will appeal to a different demographic.

So how many options are there now?

Diet Coke
Caffeine Free Diet Coke
Diet Coke with Lime
Diet Coke with Lemon
Diet Cherry Coke
Diet Vanilla Coke
Diet Coke with Splenda
Coca-Cola Zero
Coca-Cola C2
Coca-Cola Classic
Coca-Cola with Lime
Cherry Coke
Vanilla Coke
Caffeine Free Coca-Cola Classic

I stopped and bought one of these on the way into work this morning. Haven't tried it yet. They're currently 2 for $1 at Meijer. How can I say no to that? My fam is currently in the process of planning a Disney World vacation. Apparently in Epcot Center, there's an Igloo which features dozens of different Coke flavors from all over the world including apple, melon and licorice. Licorice Coke?

Well, I tried a Coke Zero yesterday, and honestly, I can't tell the difference between it and C2. Is there one ? or is Zero just relabled C2, because come to think of it I haven't really noticed C2 around lately.

Sprite Zero is freakin' awesome, great for an upset stomach. It has this vaguely familiar taste to it I can't quite put my finger on, Fresca, maybe ?

C2 is a half-and-half mix of regular coke and diet.

Coke Zero is an artificially sweetened zero-calorie masterpiece.

sounds interesting Barb
Have you ever been to DW?
As a 9 year old, I can only remember being bored outta my skull at Epcot...I'd imagine its probably a lot more adult friendly, though. They had a ride that went up through that giant golfball lookin thing at Epcot and when my fam and I were on it, it got stuck at the very top for about 25 minutes.
I wonder if they still have Captain Eeo,(I think thats what it was called) the Micheal Jackson 3D movie?

Give me a regular old Coca-Cola in a glass bottle any day. It truly is the Nectar of The Gods.

Yeah, Licorice Coke does sound questionable. But I dig Coke. I dig licorice. I'll probably try it. I am now ALL ABOUT Coke Zero! Have drank 2 bottles and am totally hooked!

I wonder if acesulfame potassium breaks down into nasty chemicals (formadehyde and aspartylphenylalanine diketopiperazine) the way aspartame does?

I think regular coke has too much sugar in it. It's the reason why I burned out on regular coke and became sick of it. I'll drink it with bourbon but I don't care much for it by itself these days.

I shit you not, before reading this thread, I washed down a black licorice Twizzler with some diet Coke. The marriage of flavors was rather tasty.
